  • This 124 Sport Spider was originally supplied in left-hand drive in Germany and was converted to right-hand drive while being rebuilt. The original bill of sale to a British servicewoman is included in the paperwork.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This 124 Sport Spider is finished in the 1970s works colours of red with contrasting yellow accents on the roof, wheel arches, sills, and valances, as well as white racing sideboards, and a few period-correct sponsorship decals.
  • Inside, the stripped-out cabin now features black cloth-trimmed Cobra bucket seats, black vinyl door cards, and a black Alcantara-trimmed dashboard.
  • It rides on a set of 13-inch Cromodora alloy wheels, shod with new Avon ZZR tyres.
  • Externally, this example has been upgraded with a Works Abarth hard-top roof, doors, boot lid, bonnet, and front valance, as well as twin front spotlights, extended wheel arches, quick release boot and bonnet catches, red mud flaps, Perspex windows (side windows still work).
  • Inside, the cabin now features a leather-trimmed three-spoke Abarth quick-release steering wheel, TRS six-point racing harnesses, a full roll cage, a plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, an aluminium passenger footrest, a kill switch, a bespoke works-type dashboard with toggle switches, push-button start, and a Brantz 3 rally tripmeter.
  • This 124 Sport Spider has also been upgraded with a beautiful custom aluminium fuel tank, braided fuel lines, a rally-strengthened body shell, electronic fuel pumps, an aluminium oil catch tank, a repositioned Mocal oil filter head, an ITG air filter, an aluminium radiator, an Abarth specification gearbox, suspension and brakes (Porsche 911 type – as per the 1970s works Abarths), and a hydraulic handbrake.
  • The car will be supplied with five folders of documents detailing its rebuild, an extensive collection of spare parts including a rear windscreen, lamp pods, clutches, springs, alloy wheels, and ball joints, period rally leaflets, clippings featuring the car, the Motor Sports Association homologation forms, two Fiat 124 parts catalogues, owners handbook.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • This 124 Sport Spider’s most recent routine maintenance was an engine oil and filter change, which was carried out in March 2023 by its previous owner.
  • As noted above, the car has been extensively restored and rebuilt to its current specification, with work including a full mechanical overhaul, the engine rebuilt to Guy Croft/Abarth specification, with brand-new Weber 44IDF carburettors. The car was totally stripped with the shell being dipped and rebuilt with Abarth rally panels and strengthening, and all new running gear installed.
